Brazil has more than 7,000 kilometres of Atlantic coastline, from the tropical north-east to the forested south-east, with islands, bays, reefs and thousands of beaches.
Among our favourites are Ilhabela and Ubatuba in São Paulo, Ilha Grande and Paraty in Rio de Janeiro, and Boipeba, Morro de São Paulo and the Maraú Peninsula in Bahia.
It depends on the region. In São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, summer runs from December to March, with hot days and occasional showers. In Bahia it is warm all year, and the sunniest months are usually from September to March.
