Two car-free islands in Bahia where nature, peace and simplicity meet: Boipeba, untouched and unhurried, and Morro de São Paulo, with its barefoot luxury. Tailor-made by AMTOURS.
Just a short boat ride from the mainland, Boipeba feels like a world apart: untouched, unhurried and unforgettable. There are no cars, only sandy paths, friendly locals and an authentic atmosphere that is hard to find elsewhere.
On the east coast of the island lies Moreré, a small fishing village surrounded by palm trees, coral reefs and crystal-clear natural pools. Snorkel in warm water, walk barefoot along deserted beaches and taste fresh seafood under the stars.

The islands are neighbours, so it is easy to combine a few nights on each.

What travellers ask us most before a trip to Boipeba and Morro de São Paulo.
They are islands on the coast of Bahia, in north-eastern Brazil, south of Salvador. Morro de São Paulo is on the island of Tinharé, and Boipeba is the neighbouring island to the south.
There is no regular car traffic. You walk on sandy paths, and small tractors or 4x4 vehicles carry luggage and run beach transfers.
Boipeba is quieter and wilder, ideal for deserted beaches, natural pools and slow days. Morro de São Paulo has more pousadas, restaurants and nightlife. Many travellers stay a few nights on each.
Most trips start in Salvador. Morro de São Paulo is reached by catamaran or by a short flight, and Boipeba by boat from Morro de São Paulo or from the mainland. AMTOURS organises every transfer.
Three to five nights is ideal to enjoy both islands without rushing. Our 5-Day Island Escape combines Morro de São Paulo and Boipeba.
The natural pools of Moreré and the coral reefs are best at low tide, when the water is calm and clear. We plan the excursions around the tide table.
Tell us your dates, how many travellers and whether you prefer the peace of Boipeba or the energy of Morro de São Paulo. We take care of boats, transfers and pousadas.
